Zimlancers, operated by [Team Zimlancers] (referred to as "Zimlancers," "we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your personal data and your right to privacy. Financial Data

Bank account numbers, mobile money wallet details, payment processor information (e.g., PayPal/Stripe IDs), billing information.

Facilitating secure payments, billing, and processing Escrow transactions. Note: We do not store full credit card details.

Professional Data

Profile photo, skills, work history, portfolio, reviews and ratings, pricing/rates, service descriptions.

Matching freelancers with clients, marketing the freelancer's services on the platform, and building trust.

Usage & Technical Data

IP address, browser type, device details, pages viewed, time spent, login data, cookie data.

Platform security, preventing fraud, troubleshooting, and improving service performance.

Communication Data

Messages and chat logs between Clients and Freelancers on the platform.

Dispute resolution, quality control, and ensuring compliance with our Terms of Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for a variety of legitimate business purposes, including:

  • To Facilitate Account Creation and Logon: Processing your registration and authenticating your identity to secure your account.
  • To Provide Services: Operating the marketplace, managing the Escrow system, and connecting Clients and Freelancers.
  • To Fulfil and Manage Orders: Processing your payments, commissions, and fees associated with completed projects.
  • To Send Administrative Information: Sending you service-related communications, security alerts, and important policy updates.
  • To Enforce Terms and Policies: Monitoring activity for fraud prevention, illegal activity, or breaches of our User Agreement.
  • To Improve Our Services: Analysing usage patterns to enhance platform functionality and user experience.
  • To Comply with Legal Obligations: Meeting regulatory requirements in Zimbabwe, including those mandated by our funding partner, POTRAZ.

3. Sharing Your Personal Data

We only share your data with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide our Services, or to protect your rights. We may share your data with the following:

  • Other Users: Your profile (name, skills, portfolio, ratings) is shared with other users (Clients/Freelancers) when you engage in a project.
  • Payment Processors: Banks, mobile money providers, and international payment gateways to facilitate deposit and payout of funds.
  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors who perform services for us (e.g., website hosting, data analysis, customer support, legal services).
  • Legal & Regulatory Bodies: Government entities, law enforcement, and POTRAZ, as required by applicable Zimbabwean law or legal process.

4. Data Security and Retention

Security: We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. While we strive to protect your data, no electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Retention: We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as for tax, accounting, or other legal requirements specific to Zimbabwe).
